This is a great place to get whatever you need to do some fishing. Randall and his wife are super friendly and knowledgeable. They got me all set up with a new Penn International 70VIS today. All spooled up and ready to go.

Best place on the island to go for all your fishing needs. Super helpful in getting you setup great selection of rods and reels. And you can’t beat their prices. This place is all about fishing and getting you what you need to be successful only thing they can’t do is put the fish on the the hook for you although I wouldn’t be surprised if they could figure out a way to do that for you too!!!!!!

Best fishing tackle shop on the island! They have by far, hands down, the best prices. Great selection of everything you need to catch the big one. And the owner, Randall, gave us pointers and tips on everything from how to set up our reels to what bait we needed and even pointed us in the right direction as to where they were biting! Will definitely be going back to see Randall next time we’re in town

I had one issue, I wanted some flip flops that would not slip on my boat. I was referred to this store by another business because that business did not carry what I was looking for. So I stopped in and was greeted with a sales person who said they only sell "Olukia" flip flops. I told the salesman what I was looking for a he set me up with a pair of Okulia Ohana flip flops. I gladly paid the high price for a flip flops that was suppose to solve my issue. Good news is the Okulia flip flops is a non slip flip flops and man it did its job as soon as I returned to my boat, located at the marina just behind their store. Fast forward, within a week I noticed my flip flops started to come apart. So I called the store and reported my issue. The woman on the phone "same woman mentioned in many bad reviews I'm sure" told me to bring them in. Well that's just what I did and to my surprise I was immediately asked questions like "did I leave me flip flops in the sun" and then some man working at the store told me that they come apart if you introduce them to chemicals. I was stumped, So I paid a hundred bucks for flip flops that cant be in the sun? Or I am walking in chemicals. I only wear my Okulia's on my boat, no chemicals but plenty of SUN. So basically I left the store believing my shoe issue was MY fault. I also left the store because they asked me to come back in an hour to speak to the owner. When I asked why they couldn't handle it. This was the reason. It's because Okulia is horrible about honoring their product warranty. So here is what I did. I left the store and while waiting on the ferry, I called Okulia and within 15 minutes my new flip flops were shipped and my issue was handled. Save your money and your time and never buy from these folks. They will gladly take your money and blame the issue on the sun or the product maker. My flip flops will be returned to you Port A Outfitters in a way I promise you wont never forget, this is not over. Just like my experience at your store will never be forgotten.

Not to in tune with saltwater fishing so I relied on the expertise of the general men running the shop. Set me up with a nice reel and some 20lbs braided. Got me some crab gear. And a few bigger sinkers. And stayed with in my budget.

Only went to the side to buy bait. First time the shrimp were average size, the second time we came back they were really large. Both times the guys working back there were helpful and gave good customer service.

We had an excellent experience. The boat trip, the fishing, and the onboard service were absolutely outstanding. The captain and the entire crew were amazing 🤩 they made us feel welcome and taken care of the whole time. They were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The service on the boat was truly first-class!🙌
The only thing I would NOT recommend is the fish cleaning service offered after you get off the boat. Our experience there was terrible😏. The staff was rude and disorganized. After getting off the boat feeling so happy, that experience almost ruined the end of our day.
On top of waiting almost two hours, we clearly explained how we wanted our fish cleaned and cut, but they did the exact opposite. They even ruined the biggest fish we had caught and filleted the wrong ones. To make matters worse, we still had to pay $120😏 just to have six fish scaled and two filleted an outrageously high price for the service we received. The most frustrating part was that they cleaned the fish the way they wanted, not the way we had specifically requested🤯
We would absolutely come back for the fishing trip because we truly loved the experience, and the crew was exceptional. However, next time we’ll definitely take our fish somewhere else to be cleaned. 😉

First time ever going deep sea fishing. Captain and 2 deckhands were amazing. I did the 8 hour trip, it was about a 2 1/2 hour ride out to the location. It was beyond what I expected, the caption dropped anchor and told us the depth. He said massive school underneath. It was fish on 9/10 casts, and who would have thought that you can catch them using gummy Bears. I'd definitely give it more stars if I could. I'm from out of state so a license for the day was only 16$. And it's .75¢ a pound to be processed. Not pricey at all. Great atmosphere.

My family takes multiple private charters a year with Deep Sea Headquarters. We always request Captain Jake. We have always hit our limits, Jake puts us on the fish and the help of the crew is always top notch. Each trip the crew are just a part of the team we have on board. All the laughs and fun times that Jake and Lloyd bring on board is the best. I bring employees down for trips, do family trips and each time we always have a blast. I know not everyone has the ability to do private charters, but I highly recommend if you can, do it! Just a few of our trips from the last 12 months.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time there from start to finish! Very nice people running the place, and treated me well and a solid place to catch some fish. And at night the dolphins are cheering you on closely too! : )

Place is overall awesome to go to! They have everything you need, or “forgot at home” 😂 caught this speckled while I was there! Fish bite a lot, but it’s a lot of undersized! Did catch a couple big’ns though!

Took a great charter out of this marina. Seas were rough but we caught our limit of red snapper. The marina has good live bait and it easy to access.

No wating, I drove right on. The ferry ride looks much longer than five minutes when viewed from Google Maps. The ferry conductors managed all the vehicles well.

Good spot for catfish for sure. Nice pole rentals and got decent bait.

Made a stop for bait and ended up staying to fish at the pier.
Restrooms are not the best but better than portal potties. The guys were very helpful and knowledgeable. They weren’t the friendliest but they weren’t rude.
Make sure to check out all their inventory. They have a good selection of fishing sticks and tackle.
We also enjoyed the pier. Everyone was friendly. We caught lots of catfish but you can see other fish jumping out the water.

We came here for the first time on July 9th. They were not busy. They charged us $2 per person just to walk onto the pier, even for the ones that were not going to fish. That didn't seem right. The pier itself was pretty disgusting. They should do a regular cleaning of the benches and workstation surfaces. The nastiness was obviously there for a long time. Overall we had a good experience with fishing there.

Went here on out first night in Corpus and had a blast. My little one caught 10 fish mostly trout. I caught like 4. Had such a great time I brought the whole family the next night. We were all let down as we weren't able to purchase live shrimp. We got there at 11:30. The gentleman working the counter got way too much joy out of telling us " I quit selling live bait at 11:15. OK so we got 6 people and 4 poles and obviously not from around here and you won't sell us shrimp because of 15 minutes?!?!?! Weird. Way to be nice and understanding. Guy was chuckling as he said it and as we were leaving disgruntled....he thought that was funny as well. Not a good look. As others have mentioned Sam is rather rude so not sure why he's there unless he's the owner. Who knows but be prepared because anything you do could and will inconvenience this poor man.

This can be a good fishing spot, but they do get packed at certain times. Very early morning (3-7am) seems to be the best time to avoid the crowd. There is a per person and per pole fee that is good until 6am the next morning. They do have a restroom open until the shop closes and a porta potty after that so it is a place that the whole family can enjoy with some effort. Beautiful place to enjoy wildlife and sunrises and sunsets.
