This is a great place to get whatever you need to do some fishing. Randall and his wife are super friendly and knowledgeable. They got me all set up with a new Penn International 70VIS today. All spooled up and ready to go.

Best place on the island to go for all your fishing needs. Super helpful in getting you setup great selection of rods and reels. And you can’t beat their prices. This place is all about fishing and getting you what you need to be successful only thing they can’t do is put the fish on the the hook for you although I wouldn’t be surprised if they could figure out a way to do that for you too!!!!!!

I had one issue, I wanted some flip flops that would not slip on my boat. I was referred to this store by another business because that business did not carry what I was looking for. So I stopped in and was greeted with a sales person who said they only sell "Olukia" flip flops. I told the salesman what I was looking for a he set me up with a pair of Okulia Ohana flip flops. I gladly paid the high price for a flip flops that was suppose to solve my issue. Good news is the Okulia flip flops is a non slip flip flops and man it did its job as soon as I returned to my boat, located at the marina just behind their store. Fast forward, within a week I noticed my flip flops started to come apart. So I called the store and reported my issue. The woman on the phone "same woman mentioned in many bad reviews I'm sure" told me to bring them in. Well that's just what I did and to my surprise I was immediately asked questions like "did I leave me flip flops in the sun" and then some man working at the store told me that they come apart if you introduce them to chemicals. I was stumped, So I paid a hundred bucks for flip flops that cant be in the sun? Or I am walking in chemicals. I only wear my Okulia's on my boat, no chemicals but plenty of SUN. So basically I left the store believing my shoe issue was MY fault. I also left the store because they asked me to come back in an hour to speak to the owner. When I asked why they couldn't handle it. This was the reason. It's because Okulia is horrible about honoring their product warranty. So here is what I did. I left the store and while waiting on the ferry, I called Okulia and within 15 minutes my new flip flops were shipped and my issue was handled. Save your money and your time and never buy from these folks. They will gladly take your money and blame the issue on the sun or the product maker. My flip flops will be returned to you Port A Outfitters in a way I promise you wont never forget, this is not over. Just like my experience at your store will never be forgotten.

I’ve always purchased my rods and supplies here but the last time I was here the people here were just rude. I purchased a rod without a tip-I know that was my first mistake I should have made sure everything (guides, inner circles reel handle, etc) everything was intact but it was late and I was tired and they were about to close. Came back and asked if I can do an exchange for the same rod and reel combo just swap the reels as I didn’t just want a tip since a good inch was missing from the 2nd to last guide. Nope. Some lady was all huffy and grabbed the rod and glued on a cheap tip on. I even asked a second time if I can just do an exchange since the receipt said I could and she already glued a basic tip on. It didn’t even match the other guides! She said it doesn’t matter but it does to me I take pride in all my rods and reels. And if I’m going to drop a lot of money on my setup I want it to be perfect! I will NEVER shop here again. I couldn’t believe the disregard. I guess when they say they’ll accept returns or exchanges is a lie!

Only went to the side to buy bait. First time the shrimp were average size, the second time we came back they were really large. Both times the guys working back there were helpful and gave good customer service.

We had an excellent experience. The boat trip, the fishing, and the onboard service were absolutely outstanding. The captain and the entire crew were amazing 🤩 they made us feel welcome and taken care of the whole time. They were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The service on the boat was truly first-class!🙌
The only thing I would NOT recommend is the fish cleaning service offered after you get off the boat. Our experience there was terrible😏. The staff was rude and disorganized. After getting off the boat feeling so happy, that experience almost ruined the end of our day.
On top of waiting almost two hours, we clearly explained how we wanted our fish cleaned and cut, but they did the exact opposite. They even ruined the biggest fish we had caught and filleted the wrong ones. To make matters worse, we still had to pay $120😏 just to have six fish scaled and two filleted an outrageously high price for the service we received. The most frustrating part was that they cleaned the fish the way they wanted, not the way we had specifically requested🤯
We would absolutely come back for the fishing trip because we truly loved the experience, and the crew was exceptional. However, next time we’ll definitely take our fish somewhere else to be cleaned. 😉

I didnt fish but the boys did and was really looking forward to the experience. The price is affordable for the 5 hour but the time you get to fish is rediculous. You spend 4 hours of it going out to the area to fish which leaves about an hour to fish. The crew that did all the work was fast and very helpful. Talking to them seemed like a bother, they didn't get to know you in those 4 hours, and when it was close to arriving back thats when they want to thank you, pass the tip bucket around, and act like we all had such a great time. It was very scriptive what is said and fake. The captain acted like he didn't want to go, seemed pissed, couldn't understand what he was saying on the speaker because of his attitude. The benches are very uncomfortable. They had us all stand up and move to one side to clean while heading back which was unsafe. I didn't expect the bathroom to be immaculate clean, but I also didnt expect for it to be as disgusting as it was with hardly any toilet paper available. It looked like the boat was being lived out of more than having it for great experiences. This was my brother's first time and was hoping it would've been the greatest for him. I will make sure that next time spend extra money forvs chartered experience with a different company. I do want to thank the two guys for being efficient at what you do and setting everything up while also being helpful with everyone's catch. This company compared to one we did in South Padre was terrible. The other we had fun and talked to everyone which made enjoyable.

I can not say enough good about this place, the weather was bad for a few days, they kept us informed about our trip and did have to cancel. But booked us again a few days later. The deckhands were GREAT, Captain Jake was very friendly and extremely involved, he fished with us too. I highly recommend this service. We had lots of choices and glad we picked Deep Sea Headquarters. Cam was awesome and helped us reach our Red Snapper limit really fast! Thanks again, we had a great time.

Made a stop for bait and ended up staying to fish at the pier.
Restrooms are not the best but better than portal potties. The guys were very helpful and knowledgeable. They weren’t the friendliest but they weren’t rude.
Make sure to check out all their inventory. They have a good selection of fishing sticks and tackle.
We also enjoyed the pier. Everyone was friendly. We caught lots of catfish but you can see other fish jumping out the water.

Use to go to another popular bait shop here. Needed fresh bait one night and they were the only ones that had any. Their mullets lasted longer in our live well than the other stores ever did.

Nice little spot to fish at, long pier with benches on 12/12/25 cost $3 per person $2 per rod to use the pier, they got fresh shrimp and other bait for sale.

This can be a good fishing spot, but they do get packed at certain times. Very early morning (3-7am) seems to be the best time to avoid the crowd. There is a per person and per pole fee that is good until 6am the next morning. They do have a restroom open until the shop closes and a porta potty after that so it is a place that the whole family can enjoy with some effort. Beautiful place to enjoy wildlife and sunrises and sunsets.

Went here on out first night in Corpus and had a blast. My little one caught 10 fish mostly trout. I caught like 4. Had such a great time I brought the whole family the next night. We were all let down as we weren't able to purchase live shrimp. We got there at 11:30. The gentleman working the counter got way too much joy out of telling us " I quit selling live bait at 11:15. OK so we got 6 people and 4 poles and obviously not from around here and you won't sell us shrimp because of 15 minutes?!?!?! Weird. Way to be nice and understanding. Guy was chuckling as he said it and as we were leaving disgruntled....he thought that was funny as well. Not a good look. As others have mentioned Sam is rather rude so not sure why he's there unless he's the owner. Who knows but be prepared because anything you do could and will inconvenience this poor man.
